Wesleyan University – Philippines (WU-P), nestled in the heart of Cabanatuan City in Nueva Ecija, Philippines, is known for its provision of academic excellence molding students to become leaders in the various aspects of social, cultural, economic and Christian living and services, hence serving the nation and the Church.
Students are housed in 17 multi-storey buildings where they are trained to embrace brighter future ahead. They are accorded with the most hospitable accommodation that they would love to come back while enjoying the fruits of their excellent academic trainings in their respective places.
Wesleyan offers educational programs in the pre-school, elementary, secondary, undergraduate, and graduate levels. Emphasizing a holistic and interdisciplinary approach, the university academic offerings cover a broad range of disciplines including behavioral and applied sciences, engineering, social sciences, business management, education and theology. The University begins to open its School of Law in Academic Year 2015-2016.
Wesleyan boasts of its highly trained faculty and staff members, majority of whom are Doctors of Education (Ed.Ds.), Doctors of Philosophy (Ph.Ds.) and Master’s Degree holders.
Wesleyan is an active member of the Private Schools Athletic Association (PRISAA) in Region III, Nueva Ecija Collegiate Sports League (NECSL), National Chess Federation of the Philippines and Philippine Taekwondo. Its athletic teams compete in various sports competitions.
Eminent alumni include officials in the national government, politicians, businessmen, writers, artists, and best employees in the public and private sectors in the local, national and international levels.
Wesleyan established its own hospital popularly known as the Wesleyan University Medical Center (WUMC). Primarily intended to support the medical and clinical needs of the students of the College of Nursing and Applied Medical Professions, WUMC is now open to attend to health needs not only of students, but the larger community and the neighboring provinces of Nueva Ecija. It is equipped with highly specialized state-of-the-art cardio-vascular facilities, staffed by competent, ethical and compassionate medical doctors and health professionals inspired by Methodist traditions with the mission: “to provide quality, caring and cost-effective health services for patients and to establish a center for teaching, training, and research in the field of medical and nursing specialties under the responsible stewardship sustained by Christian values.”
At present, Wesleyan is an active institution member of the International Association of Methodist Schools, Colleges and Universities (IAMSCU), Association of Universities in Asia and the Pacific (AUAP), Asia Pacific Association of Methodist Educational Institutions (APAMEI), and Philippine Association of Methodist Schools, Colleges, Universities and Seminaries (PASMCUS). Its outreach program is partly subsidized by North Georgia Bridge Program of the North Georgia Annual Conference, USA.
