Guidance Services
Counseling
The primary aim of this guidance service is to give proper assistance to every learner in accordance to their needs, attitudes and values. It assists our students in dealing with their problems and enhancing their skills thereby make them efficient and effective learners.
Testing and Assessment
This guidance service is used to assess the students and employees performance for their placement and classification. It is also used to evaluate their mental capabilities, personality, interests and aptitude.
Psycho-educational Service
It is a comprehensive dissemination of valuable information to the Wesleyan community. It may include activities like Seminars/webinars, trainings, film showing and community outreach.
Student Inventory
This service aims to gather necessary information about the student, to know them better and serve as a basis for the development of an effective Guidance Program.
Exit Interview
This service aims to gather necessary information about the different services that the student availed during their stay in the university. The data that will be collected can serve as an important basis for research and improvement of university services.
PEER Counselors Training
The Guidance and Placement Center continuously train students to become peer facilitators/counselors. They are considered as the extended arm of the Guidance and Placement Center to assist in various activities of the office. The trained peer counselors become members of the Wesleyan University-Philippines Peer counselors Association (WU-P PCA), a recognized student organization by the Office for Student Affairs.
Vocational/Career Development Service
This service aims to give assistance to our students in choosing, preparing for, entering upon and making progress in an occupation. It creates awareness and appreciation of the different stages of life and professional careers.
CareerPlacement Service
This guidance service facilitates the student’s movement to the appropriate educational and occupational level or program; entry into the appropriate co-curricular and extra-curricular activities; pursuit of further education or employment upon leaving the university.
