Brief description of the Library’s Operation

The Library, being the heart of the University, supports the University in its mission and vision “Wesleyan University-Philippines provides quality education and compassionate health care services imbued with Wesleyan spirituality, to produce competent graduates committed to the whole creation for the glory of God”.

Through the years, the Library provides advanced learning and knowledge by linking theory and practice in all disciplines, and to prepare students for lifelong learning, leadership and careers in a changing multicultural world.”The Library Department help students in the discovery, evaluation, and use of information resources like books, journals, magazines, newspaper, (print & non-print)  CDs, DVDs and other learning materials related to the curriculum offered by the University. Of equal importance, we train and teach our students how to critically and ethically use information.

The functions of the Library are to:
  • Work in cooperation with faculty and administrators to acquire a   wide variety of educational materials to support and to enrich the curriculum, taking into consideration various interests, abilities and maturity levels of the students.

  • Prepare those materials through such processes as cataloging and classification, indexing, abstracting among others in support of the work instruction.

  • Provide individual and group assistance to readers in the use of the library materials, placing the proper tools in the student’s hands and showing him how to proceed and help when help is needed.

  • Encourage among students the function of a life-long habit of reading much and reading well.
