The Wesleyan University-Philippines Men’s Indoor Volleyball Team (WUP MVT) finished second in the PRISAA Regional Games 2023 after being bested by Systems Plus College of Angeles City in a hard-fought match.A total of 17 volleyball teams competed in this regional sporting event. They were divided into four brackets. WUP MVT was in Bracket 4. This had the most number of competing teams among all the brackets. Here, WUP MVT had to outperform four (4) other teams to emerge as the top team in the Bracket and advance to the Quarter Finals.

During the Quarter Finals, the team squared off with Columban College and swept the host college in a 3-0 game.

The WUP MVT continued its dominance in the Semifinal Round after it defeated Richwell College in a 3-0 match.

Joining the Systems Plus College and WUP MVT on the podium was Angeles University Foundation, which secured bronze.

In a Facebook post by Mr. Paulo Alejo, the team’s coach, Dr. Henry Cocoy Nacpil, WUP Sports Coordinator, shared his optimism and confidence for the team for next year’s competitions stating, “Next year Nationals npo Coach Alejo Paulo.”

Mr. Emmanuel Samson served as Mr. Alejo’s assistant coach.

WUP MVT members included Aldrin DC. Sarangaya, Christopher B. Oyler, Justine Gabriel B. Sabado, Russhed Bacolor, Mark Angelo S. De Guzman, Clarence Mallare, Emmanuel P. Samson, David Mirano, Dan Albert Barroga, Jerald Paul Agustin, Juvy Sante, and Jabez Cordova.
