The opening program began at 1:30 in the afternoon and brought together university officials, select faculty members, staff, and students as the university welcomed the accreditation team for the evaluation of its graduate and undergraduate programs.
In his welcome remarks, Wilfredo C. Ramos, Vice President for Academic Affairs, described accreditation as an opportunity for the university to assess its accomplishments, identify areas for improvement, and strengthen its commitment to providing quality and transformative education.
He emphasized that accreditation goes beyond compliance with standards, highlighting the university’s responsibility to develop competent professionals and principled individuals committed to serving their communities.
Ramos also underscored the institution’s core values, known as CHASE: Compassion, Harmony, Accountability, Spirituality, and Excellence, which he said should guide its academic practices, institutional decisions, and community service.
Meanwhile, Dr. Eunice D. Mercado of ACSCU-ACI, the overall coordinator, emphasized the service-oriented purpose of the accreditation process.
