The Commission on Higher Education Regional Office III (CHEDRO III), in celebration of ASEAN Month and in pursuit of its continuing efforts to advance internationalization, successfully conducted TANGLAW Central Luzon 2026 on September 14, 2026, in Clark, Pampanga. Anchored on the theme “Navigating the ASEAN Future, Together,” the event brought together higher education institutions (HEIs) across the region to celebrate academic excellence, innovation, and global engagement.

TANGLAW, which stands for Together Achieving National and Global Legacies for ASEAN-ready and World-class Central Luzon, highlighted the collective commitment of HEIs to advancing quality education, innovation, sustainability, and international competitiveness. Wesleyan University–Philippines (WUP) proudly joined this regional celebration, reaffirming its dedication to becoming a globally recognized institution of higher learning.

Representing WUP, Board of Trustees (BOT) Chair Atty. Juanito Carlos and Vice President for Academic Affairs Dr. Wilfredo C. Ramos received two plaques of distinction recognizing the University’s notable achievements in international rankings. These recognitions were conferred for WUP’s inclusion in the 429th place among the Top 500 Universities worldwide in the World University Rankings for Innovation (WURI) and its placement in the 1501+ bracket of the Times Higher Education (THE) Sustainability Impact Rankings, recognizing the University’s continuing efforts toward sustainability and the advancement of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.

Another highlight of the event was the inter-HEI chorale competition, which showcased the musical talents and artistic excellence of participating institutions.

WUP’s Chamber Singers earned a place among the ten initial entries and proudly represented the University as the only group from a private university among the selected performers, alongside representatives from prominent state universities in Region III. The group performed “Light of the Million Mornings” and “Walang Natira,” delivering both pieces with passion, confidence, and musical excellence. Their outstanding performance earned them third place, bringing pride and honor to the Wesleyan community.

The event concluded with photo opportunities featuring CHEDRO III officials and fellow awardees, celebrating the collective accomplishments of higher education institutions across Central Luzon.

Through its achievements in global rankings and the artistic excellence of its student performers, Wesleyan University–Philippines continues to demonstrate its commitment to academic quality, innovation, sustainability, and holistic development. TANGLAW Central Luzon 2026 served as a meaningful reminder that through collaboration and shared aspirations, Central Luzon continues to shine on both the national and international stages.
