Recognizing the vital role of innovation and research in national development, Wesleyan University- Philippines welcomed representatives from Angeles University Foundation (AUF), led by Ms. Monalisa Lacson and Mr. Artemio Ema Jr. of the AUF Center for Advanced Research and Innovation, for their presentation of AUF-MAGNUS (Mobilizing and Accelerating Growth of Nascent, Useful, and Sustainable Health Technologies) H-Hub Project to select academic heads of Wesleyan University-Philippines (WUP) on September 17, 2025.
The initiative, supported by the DOST–Philippine Council for Health Research and Development (PCHRD), aimed to bridge the gap between academe and industry by identifying health-related research that can be further developed for practical use and potential collaboration with entrepreneurs.
The AUF team shared that they were conducting surveys among academic institutions and performing SWOT analyses of health research outputs to determine which projects have the potential to be maximized by researchers, institutions, and industry partners.
Additionally, through Focus Group Discussions (FGDs), they aimed to gather valuable data that would pave the way for collaborations with entrepreneurs and stakeholders.
Through this engagement, WUP welcomed the collaborative research initiative and its support for endeavors that align with its vision of producing globally competitive and socially responsible professionals.
