Aiming to strengthen preparedness and resilience against security risks, the Crisis Management Committee (CMC) of Wesleyan University-Philippines (WUP), headed by Chairman Mr. Renato D. Salvador, conducted a Bomb Threat and Cybercrime Awareness Seminar with the theme Preparedness and Resilience: Strategies for Mitigating Bomb Threats and Cyberattacks, on August 15, 2025, at the WUP Amphitheater, Cushman Campus.The seminar featured speakers from the Nueva Ecija Provincial Cyber Response Team, led by PMSG Richmond M. Bernardino, along with PAT Jesica D. Liangna, PAT Lester Ian V. Bondoc, and PAT Alexander Llona.

Also sharing their expertise were members of the Nueva Ecija Provincial Explosive Ordnance Disposal and Canine (EOD K9) Team, led by PCPT Merly Rose P. Sanchez, with PSMS Juanita D. Palileng, PMSg Geoffrey N. Lucading, PSSg Joseph Dan J. Jumaquio, PSSg Jerelou B. Roño, and PSSg Micky G. Tumitit.

Topics on cybercrime included online scams, GCash-related scams and insurance issues, fake receipt scams, online lending applications, love scams, misuse of photos and videos, OTP reminders, and hacking. The bomb threat discussion covered types of explosives, materials used, strategies of perpetrators, and bomb threat management.

The seminar was attended by staff from various departments, including Auxiliary, ICT/Printing, Asset Management, Security, Hospital Auxiliary, Maintenance, and the Crisis Management Committee (CMC) provided essential skills and strategies to enhance campus safety and resilience.

Batch two of the seminar, originally scheduled for August 19, 2025, was postponed, and the new schedule would be announced soon.
