The College of Hospitality and Tourism Management (CHTM) broadened its international reach with its participation in the Union of Filipino Tourism Educators, Inc. (UFTE) 2nd International and 25th Annual National Educators’ Convention and Research Conference 2025, held on November 19–21, 2025, at Chung Hua University, Taipei, Taiwan, where Dr. Dulce Amor Salvio-Padilla, Dean, and Dr. Jamella C. Clanes, CHTM OJT Coordinator, presented their research papers.

The conference gathered tourism and hospitality educators, researchers, and industry professionals from various countries and provided a platform for sharing innovative instructional practices, research findings, and global insights to advancing tourism and hospitality education.

Dr. Padilla presented “Preparations and Inclinations of the CHTM’s National Skills Competition Winner,” co-authored by Celestino Bautista Jr., Roselia Nuñez, Girlie Lagasca, and Gary Raymond Tangonan.

While Dr. Clanes shared “Industry-Based Qualifications for On-the-Job Trainees: Input to a Proposed Competency-Based Assessment Tool,” co-authored by Dr. Jonah Faye Gaspar, Dr. Dulce Amor Padilla, Dr. Joepet Portana, and Dr. Miyuki Geronimo.

Notably, a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) was signed between Wesleyan University-Philippines, represented by Dr. Padilla, and Chung Hua University, represented by its President, Dr. Victor Liu, aimed to promote joint research initiatives, academic exchanges, faculty and student mobility, and collaborative training programs, strengthening both institutions’ internationalization efforts.

“The participation of CHTM in this prestigious international conference reaffirms its dedication to academic excellence and its mission to develop globally competitive tourism and hospitality professionals,” Dr. Padilla emphasized.
