Wesleyan University Philippines College of Allied Medical Sciences (CAMS) held a blood donation drive titled “Heroes in Blood: A Day of Valor Donation Drive” on April 9, 2025, at the University Gymnasium. The event was organized in line with the college’s commitment to public health and in observance of Araw ng Kagitingan (Day of Valor).

The activity aimed to honor both the historical bravery of Filipino heroes and the generosity of blood donors. Despite the holiday, the event drew strong support from students, staff, and volunteers, collecting a total of 160 bags of blood.

The drive also served as a hands-on learning experience for third-year Bachelor of Science in Medical Technology students, who assisted as blood donors under proper supervision. Their participation was part of their Hematology course requirements, giving them real-world experience in a controlled, professional setting. The Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy students also had a key participation in this event, taking the vital signs of the blood donors.

The event was conducted in partnership with Nueva Ecija Doctors Hospital, Inc., where many CAMS alumni and part-time faculty members are affiliated. Their involvement helped ensure that proper medical procedures and safety protocols were followed throughout the event.
CAMS expressed gratitude to the university administration for its support in making the event possible. The success of the donation drive reflected the college’s ongoing commitment to service, education, and health advocacy.
