Graduate School (GS) faculty members strengthened their role as research leaders after completing a one-day intensive SCOPUS Publication Workshop held on May 2, 2026 (Saturday) as part of the GS Faculty Development Program of Wesleyan University-Philippines.
The training brought together GS faculty in a hands-on, output-driven learning environment designed to enhance research capability and prepare scholarly work for Scopus-indexed publication. More than a technical workshop, the initiative reflected the University’s commitment to producing globally competitive research that contributes to sustainable development and academic excellence.
Aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 4 on Quality Education and SDG 9 on Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure, the workshop equipped faculty members with the knowledge and tools needed to produce high-quality, impactful research. By strengthening research competencies and encouraging publication in internationally indexed journals, the program supports the generation and dissemination of knowledge that can address real-world challenges.
The sessions covered essential components of SCOPUS publication readiness. Faculty participants engaged in discussions on indexing standards, journal selection, literature search strategies, citation management, and the use of AI-assisted tools for research publication. They were also guided in structuring their research using the IMRAD format and improving their studies to meet international publication standards.
Throughout the workshop, participants revised and enhanced their own research papers. With expert guidance, they aligned their work with journal requirements, strengthened their academic arguments, and ensured adherence to ethical and formatting standards.
The most significant outcome of the training was the successful submission of research articles to SCOPUS-indexed journals by participating faculty members. This accomplishment demonstrated the effectiveness of the program in translating learning into tangible scholarly outputs.
The initiative also reflected Wesleyan University Philippines’ mission and vision to be a leading institution in higher education that fosters excellence in instruction, research, and community engagement. By empowering faculty to publish on globally recognized platforms, the University would elevate its research culture and contribute to national and international development.https://www.wesleyan.edu.ph/wp-admin/post-new.php#
