The Library Department, in cooperation with the Library Committees and the Library Club, held the 91st National Book Week Celebration with the theme “Tulay ang Pagbasa sa Bukas na Puno ng Pag-asa” (Reading is the Bridge to a Future Full of Hope) on November 26-28, 2025.
This year’s celebration featured a Digital Poster Making Contest for elementary (primary (Grades I to III) and intermediate (Grade IV to VI) categories); Pop-up Book Making Contest for junior and senior high school; and the Book Trailer Adventure Contest for college students.
The judges for the contests were Engr. Leo M. Ramos, Chairman of the Library Committee, Engr. Mark Anthony M. David, Vice-Chairman; Prof. Rolando S. Macasaquit, Jr., member; Prof. Edrelaine F. Corpuz, member; and Prof. Jenifer M. Villalon, member of the Library Committee.
The Chairman of the Board of Judges, Engr. Ramos, the Vice President for Academic Affairs, Dr. Wilfredo C. Ramos, the University Librarian, Dr. Carmelita A. Tiglao, members of the board of judges, and the Library Committees awarded the cash prizes, medals, and certificates of recognition to the winners. The non-winners also received their certificate of appreciation and tokens during the awarding ceremony held at the University Library on December 11, 2025.
Another highlight in this year’s National Book Week Celebration was the recognition of the Most Active Library Users (elementary, high school, and college levels) for the First Semester of the academic year 2025-2026. The awardees received medals and certificates.
This new initiative aimed to encourage greater engagement by motivating patrons to make fuller use of library resources and to participate more actively in its programs and activities, promote literacy and lifelong learning by fostering a culture of reading, intellectual curiosity, and continuous self-improvement, recognize and appreciate the commitment and loyalty of consistent users while increasing awareness of the wide range of resources, services, and programs it offers, and support both academic excellence and personal growth by inspiring users to maximize the library’s role in their educational and developmental pursuits.
