As part of an ongoing effort to promote mental wellness among students, Dr. Annie Dinh Maria M. Alfaro, the Director of the Guidance and Placement Center, together with Guidance Counselors from the Philippines Guidance and Counseling Association – Nueva Ecija Chapter, and various mental health advocates, brought “Mind Matters Caravan: Strengthening Mental Health” to Talavera National High School (TNHS), on October 16, 2025.

The caravan featured counseling, strategies for emotional well-being, and interactive activities designed to help students, faculty, and staff of TNHS understand the importance of mental health in their daily lives.

“By fostering a supportive and informative environment, the initiative aimed to empower students to manage stress, build resilience, and seek help when needed,” Dr. Alfaro explained.

The event supported key Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), specifically Good Health and Well-Being, Quality Education, and Partnerships for the Goals, demonstrating a collaborative commitment to promoting holistic development and strengthening mental health education within the community.
