CABANATUAN CITY, Philippines — Dr. Chukwudi Christian Okebaram, Medical Center Director of the Remnant Christian Network (RCN) Medical Center in Makurdi, Benue State, Nigeria, conducted an in-house lecture titled “Demystifying Pharmacology” for Wesleyan University-Philippines (WUP) employees on February 9, 2026, at the JJD Garcia Auditorium.
Here, Dr. Okebaram defined pharmacology as “what the drug does to the body and what the body does to the drug.”
He further explained that some medications work by replacing what the body lacks, referring to this function as the “missing link.”
Moreover, he introduced simplified key concepts in pharmacology to strengthen participants’ understanding of the subject and encourage everyone to develop critical thinking skills and commitment to continuous learning in the ever-evolving field of medicine. He also emphasized the vital role of healthcare professionals in ensuring safe and responsible medication practices.
The lecture concluded with an interactive question-and-answer session.
The activity marked the conclusion of the WUP Lecture Series with Dr. Okebaram, where he facilitated virtual, in-person, and over-the-radio (89.7 DWUP-FM Radio Wesleyan) lectures and talks with the university community.
