Maria Karmela Del Rosario, PhD (Graduate School), Maria Imelda Villaroman, MEd-LPT (College of Nursing) and John Jason Villaroman, PhD (Quality Assurance Office) of Wesleyan University-Philippines participated in the Asian Graduate Studies Summit (A- GRASS) 2026, organized by the Asia-Pacific Consortium of Researchers and Educators (APCORE), held at the University of Perpetual Help System, Tagaytay Campus on May 26-29, 2026, with the theme From Research to Responsibility: Graduate Education, Innovation and Collective Action for Sustainable and Resilient Societies.

The research conference focused on addressing issues relevant to the attainment of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) for the improvement not only of the educational landscape but also of society in general.

The primary objective of the APCORE research conference was to provide a multidisciplinary platform that focuses on global collaboration to elevate academic research from higher education institutions and to bridge scientific findings with real-world, sustainable applications across the Asia-Pacific Region. Participation was initiated by the Research and Development Productivity Office (RDPO) of WUP, led by Dr. Gener Subia, as a step toward strengthening the culture of research and innovation at WUP.

Dr. Del Rosario presented her research titled “A Sequential Explanatory Mixed-Methods Study on Cultural Competemility of Transnational Nurses”, while Ms. Villaroman presented her research titled “Development of Validation of Multimedia Presentation of Nationalistic, Patriotic and Folksongs in Araling Panlipunan 10. Dr. Villaroman shared the university’s research titled “Trend Analysis of Licensure Examination Performance Across Selected Programs at WUP (2021-2023).

“The University President, Dr. Irineo G. Alvaro Jr., strongly supports fostering the cultivation of academic excellence and critical thinking to develop within the University community effective agents of change, who possess a shared culture of responsibility for nation-building,” Dr. Villaroman noted.
