Wesleyan University–Philippines (WUP) remained the leading producer of professional nurses in Nueva Ecija, with 351 alumni from the College of Nursing (CON) passing the November 2025 Philippine Nurses Licensure Examination (PNLE), according to the results released by the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) on November 27, 2025.

WUP posted an overall passing rate of 93.60%, surpassing the national overall passing rate of 90.04% by 3.56%. Of the 348 first-time takers, 339 passed, resulting in a 97.41% first-time passing rate for the University, which is 7.36% higher than the national average for first-time examinees of 90.05%. In addition, 12 of the 27 repeat takers made it to the national roster this year.

Nationwide, 40,692 out of 45,192 examinees passed the board exam administered on November 4–5, 2025.

The University’s strong performance in the PNLE was consistent. From 2021 to 2025, WUP recorded 1,120 nursing board passers, nearly doubling the output of the next top-performing institution in the province, Nueva Ecija University of Science and Technology (NEUST), which had 728 passers over the same period (based on PRC posted results). In November 2024, Amia Francezka Bautista placed 9th in the PNLE.

CON Dean Dr. Carissa Juliana Balaria expressed pride in the latest results, describing them as “phenomenal” and reflective of both the ‘rigorous’ training received by students and the ‘exceptional’ dedication of the faculty. She noted that the College had hoped for a 100% passing rate, underscoring its confidence in its graduates.

While celebrating the collective achievement, Dr. Balaria encouraged those who did not pass the exam not to lose hope. She assured them of the College’s support, emphasizing that CON would continue to provide remedial assistance to help them prepare for the next examination.

“We believe in every single one of you, and we will stand by you until you achieve your goal of becoming a Registered Nurse,” she affirmed. “This result inspires us to redouble our efforts to ensure that every graduate not only meets but surpasses the standards of our noble profession,” she concluded.
