Schuller Christian Academy (SCA), led by School Director Mr. Ferdinand U. Cruz, conducted a benchmarking visit to Wesleyan University-Philippines (WUP) on July 15, 2026.
The visiting delegation participated in a consultative dialogue with selected university administrators and academic officials.
Representing WUP were Dr. Wilfredo C. Ramos, Vice President for Academic Affairs; Dr. Juanito C. Leabres Jr., Director of the Office of Instruction and Center for Lifelong Learning; Dr. Maureen D. Bondoc, Principal of the Junior High School Department; Dr. John Jason M. Villaroman, Director of Quality Assurance; and Mr. Xavier Andrew G. Corpus, Document Control Officer for ISO.
The discussions covered institutional development and quality assurance, including faculty retention and opportunities for graduate studies, continuous professional development, and the documentation, manualization, and digitization of institutional policies and procedures.
The dialogue also included the process of securing membership in the Association of Christian Schools, Colleges and Universities (ACSCU), the structuring of student teaching deployment, and the development of physical infrastructure and learning environments.
The benchmarking activity provided an opportunity for representatives from SCA and WUP to discuss institutional practices and approaches in academic and administrative operations.
WUP President Dr. Irineo G. Alvaro Jr., who also concurrently serves as president of ACSCU and Chairperson of the Coordinating Council of Private Educational Associations (COCOPEA), initiated the university’s engagement in academic quality and institutional development.
