The delegation was received by university officials, including Ms. Kay Ann J. Tongol, Dean of the College of Allied Medical Sciences. In a letter addressed to Tongol, SAFACC President Ms. Chona Day expressed appreciation for WUP’s interest in participating in the forthcoming Educational and Cultural Mission to the United States in November.
“We are enthusiastic about supporting your engagements with UIW’s Feik School of Pharmacy and School of Rehabilitation Sciences, and we look forward to co-developing opportunities for research, collaboration, outreach, and student and faculty immersion,” Mr. Robert San Martin of the University of Incarnate Word stated.
Dr. Carissa Juliana Balaria, Dean of the College of Nursing, noted that the partnership with SAFACC also covers cultural exchange, investment, and the conduct of medical missions.
The delegates from SAFACC and UIW witnessed the performances of WUP talents from TELON (Teatrong Laan para sa Obra Ngayon), Dance Troupe, and WUP Chamber Singers.
“My perspective of the Philippines has truly changed. I used to feel a bit apprehensive, but now I’m genuinely delighted to be here. I’ve discovered how rich and vibrant the Filipino culture is. The people are incredibly warm and cheerful, and the food is absolutely delicious,” underscored Dr. Adrienne Ari of the University of Incarnate Word Ettling Center for Civic Leadership & Sustainability.
WUP officials affirmed their commitment to advancing international linkages and promoting academic and cultural collaboration.
