Millery Gen Subia, who earned Woman National Master at 10 in 2023 and the youngest at that time, together with her teammates Mary Janelle Tan of Cagayan De Oro City and Elle Castronuevo of Cavite City, brought home a bronze medal after placing third in the 18th Asian Schools Chess Championships Under-11 Team Rapid Event Girls Category held in Bangkok from December 1-11, 2024.
Meg previously tallied medals from regional to international competitions that included the ASEAN Age Group Chess Championships (2023), Palarong Pambansa, National Age Group Championships, Philippine National Youth Chess Championships, National Youth and Schools Chess Championships, and Central Luzon Regional Athletic Association Chess Competition.
Aside from being a chess prodigy, Meg, 11, managed to be a consistent honor student who is now in her 6th grade.
