In line with the annual celebration of Nutrition Month every July, the school community organized a series of activities promoting the importance of proper nutrition among students, teachers, and parents on July 11, 2025. This year’s theme is “Sa PPAN: Sama-sama sa Nutrisyong Sapat Para sa Lahat,” with the subtheme “Food and Nutrition Security Maging Priority! Sapat na Pagkain Karapatan Natin!”The celebration aimed to raise awareness on preventing malnutrition, encouraging the consumption of fruits and vegetables, and promoting healthy living.
The opening program gathered students from Pre-Kinder to Grade 6 along with their parents. The event began with a brief message from Dr. Cristy M. Fernando, Principal of the Preschool and Elementary School, and teachers involved in the program, followed by a Zumba dance joined by students, parents, and faculty members.

Culminating activities were conducted at each grade level to emphasize the importance of nutritious food in child development. These included:

• Pre-Kinder to Kindergarten: Vegetable-based hamburger making
• Grade 1: Salad Making
• Grade 2: Sandwich Making
• Grade 3: Pan de Pizza Making
• Grades 4 to 6: Cooking Competition
• SHARE students: Puto Preparation

“These activities allowed our students to learn through experience. They didn’t just hear about healthy food—they made it themselves,” Dr. Fernando said.
Teachers reported strong participation from students, teachers, and parents. “This year’s celebration was very engaging. The students gained practical knowledge on which types of food support their growth,” Ms. Rowena C. Viloria, Elementary School teacher, added.

Organizers hoped that these activities would encourage students to eat more fruits and vegetables, drink enough water, and avoid food with low nutritional value. The program also sought to inform the wider community of its role in ensuring student health and development.

“The Nutrition Month celebration reminds us that good health and nutrition are everyone’s responsibility,” Ms. Viloria concluded.
