Gathering more than 500 first-year Tourism and Hospitality Management students, the John Wesley School of Law and Governance (JWSLG) of Wesleyan University-Philippines (WUP), in cooperation with the Nueva Ecija University of Science and Technology (NEUST), led a two-day Public Legal Orientation on Legal Literacy in the Digital Age, Online Safety, and Data Privacy through the Clinical Legal Education Program (CLEP) on November 12–13, 2025, at the NEUST Sumacab Campus.

Lawyers from the Integrated Bar of the Philippines–Nueva Ecija Chapter, headed by Atty. Carmela Wenceslao-Mendoza, joined the event to share insights on digital rights, cyber protection, and responsible online engagement.

Discussions centered on key issues affecting young Filipinos today, including cyberbullying, online harassment, identity theft, data privacy, and the legal remedies available under Philippine cyberlaws. The program sought to empower students to become informed, vigilant, and responsible users of technology.
The Cabanatuan City Local Youth Development Council (LYDC) and the Sangguniang Kabataan Federation also expressed support, emphasizing the importance of strengthening local digital safety initiatives for the youth sector.

The speakers were Atty. Anthony Escasiñas, Atty. Jose Maria Cesar San Pedro, and Atty. Bembol DL. Castillo who highlighted the value of digital citizenship, cultural responsibility, and ethical leadership in the age of social media.

A breakout session titled “Defend Your Digital Rights” allowed participants to analyze real cybercrime cases, helping them understand how to identify, address, and seek solutions for various forms of online harm.
