Wesleyan University–Philippines (WUP), through its Marketing Team, took an active and engaging role in the Senior High School Career Day 2026 of St. Rose of Lima Catholic School, Inc., held on January 23, 2026, at the Sta. Rosa Municipal Gym.The one-day career guidance event, themed “Discerning God’s Call: Discovering Pathways, Developing Skills, and Building a Future of Faith, Excellence, and Service,” was organized to help senior high school students make informed decisions about higher education and future careers.

The program officially opened with a message from School Director and Principal Mrs. Glenda E. Annang, who emphasized that the event was designed to expose students to learning opportunities beyond senior high school, encouraging the students to engage with the participating universities and colleges and explore the academic programs being offered.

“This event is actually made for you to explore the learning opportunities that await you beyond senior high school, and today you will be exposed to the people and universities who are here to present their course offerings,” she noted.

Additionally, the event was graced by Sta. Rosa Municipal Mayor Hon. Christopher “Tupeng” F. Aguilar, who inspired students to value education amid today’s challenges. Reminding them that perseverance and dedication were essential in achieving their dreams.

“Sana mahalin ninyo ang pag-aaral, dahil hindi na tulad ng dati na madali ang buhay. Ngayon, mas mahirap na. Anuman ang mangyari, dalangin ko ang inyong mga pangarap,” he remarked.

Meanwhile, representing WUP, Mr. Mark Alvin B. Dela Cruz, Director of the Public Information Office, led an interactive and high-energy presentation for the WUP Marketing Team.

Through an engaging “fast talk,” the team showcased WUP’s academic achievements, wide range of course offerings, and institutional strengths. Furthermore, he highlighted quality education, student-centered learning, strong values formation, and industry-relevant programs as key reasons why students should choose WUP, drawing a favorable response and active participation among the audience.

WUP’s booth featured interactive games for better engagement with prospective students. They won prizes like umbrellas, mugs, keychains, notebooks, ballpens, and bookmarks.

In addition, Mr. dela Cruz gave a P500.00 prize to a Grade 11 student who donned a military sniper ghillie suit for the school’s dress-up day.

Additional manpower support was provided by eight On-the-Job Trainees: six BA Communication trainees and one BSBA Marketing Management trainee detailed at the Public Information Office, along with one BSIT trainee assigned at the ICT Office.

Mr. Arnold Ateneo V. Lucas, ICT Office Director, along with his staff, Mr. Roel Abello, briefly joined the team for support and technical assistance, ensuring internet connectivity was available for the WUP team.

Other higher education institutions present included PHINMA–Araullo University, Midway Colleges, Inc., Our Lady of Fatima University, College of the Immaculate Conception, National University, Saint Louis University, College for Research & Technology, Good Samaritan Colleges, Far Eastern University–Institute of Technology, Nueva Ecija University of Science and Technology (NEUST), University of Santo Tomas, and Asian College of Aeronautics.

A survey was also conducted by the team to know the prospective students’ program preferences and the competitiveness of the University in the market, including their considerations for choosing their preferred institution, so WUP may use the data in its strategy recalibration.

“I thank the St. Rose of Lima Catholic School, Inc., our friends there, and the students for inviting us [WUP] again to their Career Day. As early as now, I am looking forward to participating in next year’s event. I am delighted that through this, we have strengthened our connection with a fellow academic institution, which hopefully paves the way to more collaborations,” Mr. dela Cruz concluded.
