This was the message of Guest of Honor SFO1 Ramonchito C. Reyes during the 10th Lighting, Capping, and Pinning Ceremony of the College of Criminal Justice Education (CCJE) of Wesleyan University-Philippines held on September 5, 2025, for Batch Mandalasig.
The batch’s name, Mandalasig, embodies the spirit of warriors of honor, strength, and enthusiasm—mandirigmang may dangal, lakas, at sigasig—which the individuals of this batch would need as they continue their journey to become dedicated and outstanding professionals in criminal justice.
Batch Mandalasig, composed of 49 criminology interns—39 men and 10 women—was formally recognized in the event.
Prof. Fatima H. Salih, Program Head and Practicum Coordinator, explained that the candle lighting, pinning, and capping symbolize enlightenment, responsibility, and commitment.
Dr. Mercinario I. Santos, Dean of the CCJE and Director of the Wesleyan Junior Police Organization (Wes-JPO), welcomed the students as new members and officers of Wes-JPO after completing their pre-internship program.
The ceremony included the lighting of candles, the conferment of the official CCJE pin, and the capping of the interns, which marked their readiness to enter the criminal justice field.
Faculty members, families, and guests attended the event.
