“Pwedeng mapagod at magpahinga, pero ‘di pwedeng huminto.” – Dr. Ferdinand RomanoMarking a new chapter of leadership and growth, Wesleyan University-Philippines (WUP) appointed Dr. Ferdinand E. Romano as the School Administrator of the WUP Maria Aurora Campus on October 7, 2025.
As School Administrator, Dr. Romano outlined his comprehensive goals for the Campus, focusing on academic, spiritual, and physical transformation.
His plans included improving board examination performances, expanding research publications, strengthening partnerships, enhancing values formation and spirituality, creating a safer environment, and upgrading classrooms and laboratories. He also highlighted that he wants to intensify marketing strategies to promote the programs and services of the University in Aurora Province.
Before his appointment, Dr. Romano served in various leadership capacities at Maria Aurora Campus: Acting High School Principal (1997–1998), High School Principal (2005–2014), OIC-School Administrator (2014 to 2015; June 2025 to October 6, 2025), School Administrator (2015 to 2017), and Administrative Officer (2017-2019). While serving in these capacities, Dr. Romano has served concurrently as Dean of the College of Education and Graduate School Program Coordinator.
Additionally, he shared that he was a former president of the Aurora Private Schools Administrators Association and a former contender for Aurora State College of Technology presidency.
From WUP, he earned his units for a Bachelor of Arts in Library Sciences and completed Master of Education (MAEd) and Doctor of Education (EdD) degrees.
“Ipagpapatuloy natin paglilingkod at pagtatrabaho ng may puso. We will continue to embrace the University’s mission, live by its core values, and work toward the achievement of its vision, guided by faith,” noted Dr. Romano.
His appointment would be served coterminous with that of WUP President Dr. Irineo G. Alvaro, Jr.
