In her opening remarks, Dr. Lora L. Yusi, CHEDRO III Director, expressed heartfelt gratitude for the presence and commitment of the five HEIs, describing them as the “finest among the finest” in delivering graduate programs in the region. She emphasized that such partnerships strengthen the mission of making quality and accessible graduate education a reality for more Filipinos.
During the ceremony, Dr. Alvaro affirmed that WUP would provide its “unimpeachable support” to the SIKAP program, stressing that it was fully aligned with the University’s mission of promoting quality education and lifelong learning, as the university had been approved to offer its 26 graduate programs under SIKAP. He further underscored that this partnership would be a vital avenue for expanding opportunities for advanced studies and fostering national progress.
This initiative would also directly support the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)—particularly SDG 4: Quality Education —by ensuring inclusive and equitable access to lifelong learning opportunities, and SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals —by building strong collaborations between higher education institutions and government agencies for sustainable development.
Through this partnership, WUP reaffirmed its commitment to academic excellence, service, and global responsibility—ensuring more opportunities for faculty and staff to pursue advanced studies, achieve their full potential, and make meaningful contributions to the nation and the world.
