The NSTP-CWTS Symposium on Mental Health, held on October 12, 2025, at the University Ecumenical Chapel, brought together NSTP students for discussion on mental wellness, organized to promote awareness and strengthen students’ emotional resilience.Dr. Annie Dinh Maria M. Alfaro delivered a talk titled “Grit and Growth: Building Mental Toughness for Life Challenges and Success,” where she emphasized the importance of perseverance, a growth mindset, and self-discipline in achieving personal and academic goals. Her lecture encouraged students to embrace challenges as opportunities for development.
Meanwhile, Prof. Kimberly Jhoy Agustin discussed “Bend, Don’t Break: Coping Flexibility for College Students,” focusing on adaptive coping strategies, emotional regulation, and the value of seeking support during stressful times. Her session highlighted practical ways students can remain resilient while navigating the demands of college life.
The symposium fostered an environment for dialogue, reflection, and learning, reinforcing the university’s commitment to student well-being. The event also aligned with several Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), specifically Good Health and Well-Being, Quality Education, and Partnerships for the Goals, demonstrating the institution’s active role in promoting holistic development and stronger community collaboration.
