The meeting was presided over by Dr. Gener Subia, RDPO Director, with Dr. Ali Mamaclay serving as host. Dr. Marietta B. Agustin, Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences and a member of the Region 3 Ethics Board, served as the speaker and lecturer who discussed the process of ethics review and the importance of maintaining research integrity.
Also present to provide their insights were Ms. Kay Ann J. Tongol, Dean of the College of Allied Medical Sciences, Dr. Carissa Juliana Balaria, Dean of the College of Nursing, Dr. Juanito Leabres, Jr., Interim Director of the Office for Instruction, and Dr. John Jason Villaroman, Director of Quality Assurance.
The research coordinators from the colleges, departments, and offices elected WUP Research Ethics Committee (WUPREC) officers for the Academic Year 2025–2026.

Strategies for publishing in Scopus-indexed journals were also discussed as part of efforts to improve the university’s standing in the Times Higher Education (THE) Global Ranking.
