WESPRESSO, an al fresco coffee shop located on the second floor of the Library Building, above the canopy of the JJD Garcia Auditorium, had its soft opening on June 2, 2025, coinciding with the 63rd Association of Christian Schools, Colleges and Universities (ACSCU) National Convention, held at WUP.

The name “WESPRESSO” was selected through a university-wide student competition, which concluded during the Project Dedication Ceremony conducted on May 20, 2025. The College of Business and Accountancy (CBA) won first place in the naming contest, followed by the College of Nursing (CON) and the College of Engineering and Computer Technology (CECT).

It would be jointly managed by the CBA and the College of Hospitality and Tourism Management (CHTM). The CBA would oversee business operations, while the CHTM would handle food and beverage production.

According to Dean Jelwin Bautista of CBA, 150 cups were sold during the café’s first day of operations.

“Currently, it offers coffee-based drinks, milk-based beverages, lemonade, and fruit sodas. Popular offerings include iced and hot Spanish lattes, matcha drinks, and Lemon Cucumber with chia seeds. Plans are underway to expand the menu to include pastries, breads, and cakes,” he added.

WESPRESSO would serve customers from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., Monday to Friday. It could comfortably accommodate up to 60 people.
In addition to the café space, WESPRESSO included a Conference Room, a fully furnished facility with a 20-seat conference table, designed for meetings, presentations, and events.

“Soon, the café would have an executive coffee house,” he further shared.

According to Dr. Dulce Amor S. Padilla, CHTM dean, the conference room would also be open for external clients.

The initiative would also soon launch WESPRESSO Acoustics, featuring live performances by faculty and students.
We serve, we sip, WESPRESSO!
