In the spirit of unity and compassion this Christmas season, the Wesleyan External Systems, Connections, Opportunities, and Partnerships (WESCOP) Office of Wesleyan University-Philippines (WUP) led its annual Pamaskong Handog program for members of the Tricycle Operators and Drivers Association (TODA).

The initiative benefited 150 TODA members from two neighboring communities of the University—Barangay Mabini Extension, under the leadership of Hon. Barangay Captain Mycon Capinpin, and Barangay Magsaysay Sur, led by Hon. Barangay Captain Jackie Castillo. Each TODA member received a Christmas package from WUP.

The program highlighted the TODA members as ‘essential’ contributors to local mobility, livelihood, and everyday community life, acknowledging their role in sustaining daily transportation services within the community.

According to WESCOP Director Dr. Eufemia Ayro, the program reflected the University’s vision of fostering meaningful external relations and promoting sustainable community engagement.

“The activity was carried out efficiently and with genuine warmth, ensuring that every beneficiary felt valued and appreciated during the holiday season,” she shared.

WUP Alumni Association, led by President Ms. Enrica Francisco, also supported the initiative by underscoring the strong and continuing bond between the WUP and its graduates.

The Crisis Management Committee, headed by Chairman Mr. Renato Salvador, along with various colleges, offices, and student leaders, also contributed to the event’s success—demonstrating the Wesleyan spirit of unity and service.

“Their [the TODA Members] presence, dedication, and service echo the values of resilience, reliability, and hard work—qualities that align with the University’s mission for nation-building,” Dr. Ayro said.
