Wesleyan University-Philippines (WUP), led by President Dr. Irineo G. Alvaro Jr., continued to strengthen its global network through a series of exploratory visits to Taiwan. The visit focused on building partnerships with potential host training institutions that could soon welcome WUP student interns.Among the institutions visited were The Other World, Char Ming Agri Orchid Farm, and Tong Yang Motors—organizations representing diverse fields such as tourism, hospitality, agriculture, and emerging green technologies. These partnerships aimed to open international internship opportunities for students from Electronics Engineering, Information Technology, Hospitality Management, and Tourism Management programs.
“We want our students to experience learning in real-world global settings,” said Dr. Alvaro. “Through these partnerships, they can see how their skills connect with industries beyond the Philippines, whether in technology, innovation, or tourism. That kind of exposure shapes not only competence but also character and confidence.”
As these collaborations take shape, WUP envisions its students gaining not only technical and professional training but also meaningful cultural experiences that prepare them to thrive and serve on the global stage.
