The Master of Divinity program of Wesleyan University–Philippines (WUP) Wesley Divinity School (WDS) officially received international accreditation from the Association for Theological Education in Southeast Asia (ATESEA) on August 20, 2025, in Bangkok, Thailand.

Before this, an evaluation was conducted on July 2–4, 2025, by an accreditation team composed of Dr. Limuel Equina, Dr. Lester Edwin Ruiz, Dr. Chanaporn Jaisaodee, and Mr. Vince Ervin Palcullo.

The assessment covered key areas including admission standards, faculty, curriculum and field education, library, community life and spiritual formation, governance and management, finances, and facilities.

According to WDS faculty Dr. Cesar Reyes, the accreditors cited WUP’s institutional awards as indicators of quality and excellence and noted the strong commitment of the WDS faculty to education, spiritual formation, and community extension.

The accreditation certificate was awarded by ATESEA Chairman of the Board of Trustees Dr. Kenneth Tsang and Executive Director Dr. Limuel Equina to Dr. Reyes, who represented the WDS.

This development was aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 4: Quality Education, by ensuring international academic standards and advancing theological education.
