Sta. Rosa, Laguna – September 29, 2025. Eight students from Wesleyan University–Philippines (WUP) completed the Certified Data Center Specialist (CDCS) Level 3 program during the Vitro Academy Graduation and Partnership Recognition Ceremony held at the Vitro Data Center.The ceremony, led by Vitro President and CEO Victor Genuino, gathered academic partners and industry representatives to recognize the first batch of graduates of Vitro Academy’s microcredential program. WUP was among the participating schools, producing eight graduates.

The WUP completers were Charisma Beltran Vendivel (BSIT), Hannah Beatriz Abarientos (BSIT), Lyca Daniela Salazar (BSIT), Rainier Lloyd Ventura (BSIT), Ramil M. Rodriguez Jr. (BSIT), Gene Rev Feliciano (BSIT), Onin John Paul Binuya (BSCPE), and Marc Melgar (BSCPE).

In recognition of its academic collaboration, WUP received a plaque of partnership, accepted by Prof. Rodelio Liwag, Bachelor of Science in Information Technology (BSIT) Program Head, and Engr. Lance Aeron Guevarra, Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering (BSCpE) Faculty.

The partnership was made possible through East West International Education Specialist Inc., led by CEO Dennis M. Layug and General Manager Aimee De Guzman, in coordination with Vitro Academy Inc. Head for Learning, Engagement and Communications, People and Workplace Management, Jose Gabriel M. Fornier.

Graduates and participants were also given a guided tour of Vitro’s data center facilities.

According to Dr. Ryan John De Lara, Dean of the College of Engineering and Computer Technology, the program supports the university’s internationalization initiatives aligned with CHED Memorandum Order No. 1, s. 2025, on microcredential recognition and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

WUP’s participation in the program was noted to align with three SDGs: SDG 4 (Quality Education) by integrating industry-recognized certifications into academic training; SDG 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth) by providing students with competencies for careers in the digital economy; and SDG 9 (Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure) by exposing graduates to data center technologies and collaborative industry practices.
