Wesleyan University – Philippines (WUP), led by its President, Dr. Irineo D. Alvaro Jr., has officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Jinwen University of Science and Technology (JUST) in Taiwan, paving the way for joint academic initiatives, research collaborations, and student and faculty exchanges.
The MOU signing was held at the Jinwen University campus in New Taipei City. Dr. Alvaro was joined by members of the WUP team as they met with Jinwen officials to formalize the partnership and discuss future collaborative programs.
In his remarks, Dr. Alvaro said, “This partnership opens a new chapter for both Wesleyan and Jinwen. We share the same commitment to innovation, industry relevance, and global learning. By building this bridge between our universities, we give our students and faculty greater access to international perspectives and experiences that will prepare them for a rapidly changing world.”
The WUP delegation was warmly welcomed by Jinwen University President Dr. Jung Peng Huang and his team, who also hosted a campus tour, showcasing JUST’s advanced facilities, laboratories, and learning environments. The visit allowed both parties to explore specific areas of cooperation and exchange ideas for future projects.
JUST is recognized in Taiwan for its strong programs in engineering, hospitality management, business, and design, and for its close linkages with industries that promote practical and hands-on learning experiences.
